Congress Removes Federal Wolf Protections

  Published at

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Federal lawmakers have passed a measure that will remove protections on gray wolves in several western states including Idaho. The plan came as part of a $38 billion cut in federal spending that was backed by legislators on both sides of the aisle. Wolf hunters in Idaho and Montana will be able to hunt the predators this fall, though the wolves remain protected in Wyoming. President Barack Obama is expected to sign the bill, which will also improve funding for the Pentagon and veterans programs.
