(SHELLEY) – The Idaho House sent a bill back to a committee yesterday that would nearly double the out-of-pocket cost for Drivers’ Education. Shelley driver ed instructor Mike Jensen told Local News 8 that he is concerned the high cost of classes could keep students from driving. Lawmakers are attempting to reallocate funds from driver education and instead use them to boost the state’s struggling education budget and public roads. Experts say that other states have opted out of public financing have seen increased insurance rates as a result.
