(IDAHO FALLS) – The Idaho National Laboratory’s Special Manufacturing branch will be laying off nearly one fourth of it’s employees over the next year. Local News 8 reports that 22 will be released by the end of this fiscal year, with another 31 workers leaving next year. The group manufactures armor for U.S. Army tanks, but the demand for the material is dwindling. INL officials say they’re trying to reassign workers within the organization if possible.
