(BOISE) – Idaho Gov. Butch Otter has signed a bill that will give him authority to declare a wolf disaster emergency. The measure allows the state to enlist the help of local law enforcement agencies in reducing Idaho’s growing wolf population. While praising the bipartisan Congressional effort to delist wolves from federal protections, Otter says the new bill will come in handy if wolves are ever protected in the future.
