UPDATE: Gov. declares State Emergency In Bingham and Jefferson

(BLACKFOOT) – Rising flood waters are causing concerns everywhere, especially in Bingham County. With snowpack nearly 50 percent higher this year than it was in 1997, residents are preparing for what may be the biggest flood in their lifetimes. Local News 8 reports that the latest weather is only adding to the problem.

“I’m very concerned it could be as bad or worse as ‘97, depending on how fast the snow melts,” Emergency Director Crag Rowland said. “The rain we have today does not help us one bit.”
Officials say sandbags are available for those who need them.
