(AMERICAN FALLS) – With water levels rising, Power County officials are taking precautions. Local News 8 reports that the water is moving at five times it’s normal speed, so they’re closing boat ramps below the American Falls dam. “The run off from the mountains also the recent rains that we’ve had, it’s kind of taxing the reservoirs and we need to let that water out so they can they adjust everything for the remainder of the year,” said Marine Control Supervisor Pete Williams. The ramps could remain closed for the next two weeks.
