Busy Kids Means Less Trouble

A number of community groups are offering activities for kids during the summer. It isn’t uncommon to see a spike in crime among juveniles during the summer months, but Local News 8 reports that there are several activities available for parents to help them keep their kids out of trouble. The Idaho Falls YMCA offers a summer day camp for all ages. “Just getting out to play with friends, and you meet a lot of friends here,” said counselor Jared Wadsworth. “For older kids, it helps them become better leaders, so they can eventually help do what we are doing and become a good citizen,” said Wadsworth. Counselors say it’s important for parents to keep their kids active and learning, especially during the summer break.
