The Technology Initiative

The second day of state superintendent Tom Luna’s education task force was held in Boise yesterday. Former governors Jeb Bush of Florida and Bob Wise of West Virginia both spoke on Luna’s technology initiative. Local News 8 reports that both governors represent the bipartisan group Digital Learning Now! and have helped to start similar laws in their own states. “The thing about this and what’s brought us together — digital learning — is it’s not a partisan issue because it’s about advancing education of our children. The thing about Idaho, Idaho has been a leader.” Proponents say that if the technology initiative is done correctly, without opponents dragging their feet, Idaho could be a global leader in education.
