Pocatello Man Arrested for Attempted Strangulation

A Pocatello man is behind bars after police say he tried to strangle a female victim. 37-year-old Adrian Cortes, was arrested Monday night. When Cortes attempted to strangle his 33-year-old victim, she tried to call 911 for help. Police say Cortes took the phone away and ended the call. Cortes has been charged with one felony count of attempted strangulation and two misdemeanor counts of disruption of an emergency call and domestic battery.
