On August 3, 2011,  at 7:47 p.m. dispatch advised Bonneville County Deputies that a male was breaking into camp trailers at Eagle Rock R.V. at 1910 S. Yellowstone.  A Bonneville County Deputy was at the intersection of 17th Street and Pancheri when the call was broadcast. As the deputy pulled into Eagle Rock R.V., a gold colored Toyota Camry left Southbound on Yellowstone. The reporting party yelled pointing out the car and driver as the suspect.
The officer attempted to stop the vehicle by use of lights and siren, reported Jeff Edwards, PIO for the BCSO. The car continued South on Yellowstone at a high rate of speed.  After driving through numerous streets, Mcewen drove behind Ball Packing, stopped his car, and took off running. As the officer pulled up, he saw Mcewen and a 9 year old child running from the car.
The deputy was able to detain Mcewen until Idaho Falls Police officers arrived. The 9 year old child is a step daughter to Mcewen. The child was released to her mother.
Idaho Falls police are investigating the burglary at Eagle Rock RV.
Sgt. Jeff Edwards of the BCSO said, “We were very fortunate that no one was on the bike path at the time of this incident”
