(TABER) – It took nearly 18 hours, but BLM fire crews were able to contain the rangeland fire burning about 17 miles west of Blackfoot. The Taber fire scorched an estimated 910 acres before crews announced its demise around 10 a.m. Wednesday. The rugged lava-rock terrain made fighting the flames difficult, but Fire Commander Brian O’Donnell says no crew members were hurt.
