(COEUR d’ALENE) – A northern Idaho man with ties to a militia group has been sentenced to a year in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm and for showing people how to build homemade grenades. 60-year-old Kenneth B. Kimbley Jr. of Spirit Lake was sentenced Monday in federal court. Prosecutors sought nearly four years in prison, but the judge said he took into consideration Kimbley’s lung cancer. Kimbley admitted to demonstrating how to build homemade grenades to several people, including an undercover FBI agent.
