(CALDWELL, ID) – State Sen. John McGee is taking a leave of absence from his seat on the College of Idaho Board of Trustees. The Caldwell Republican notified officials at the private school earlier this month of his intentions to take some time away from his duties on the board. McGee stirred up a controversy earlier this summer when he was arrested on charges of drunk driving and stealing a vehicle. The College of Idaho graduate has not announced when, if ever, he will return to the board.
