(BOISE) – Police have recovered the bodies of an elderly couple from Meridian that had been missing for nearly three weeks. 81-year-old Charles Rigg and his 77-year-old wife Barbara accidentally drove off a narrow gravel road near the central-Idaho town of Lowman. The vehicle fell 60 to 80 feet before landing on its tires. The couple is believed to have survived the crash, though it is unclear how long they lived after the accident. The couple’s dog was found wandering in the area and has been returned to the family. Police do not suspect foul play.
