(HOWE) – BLM Fire crews are battling a large wildfire north of Howe. The Black Canyon Fire, which started Wednesday afternoon, quickly grew to over 1,500 acres in the Saddle Mountain area. Strong winds and no access roads has made the fight difficult. Officials believe the fire may have been caused by a lightning strike. They caution that more lightning strikes today could cause more small fires.
