Police say quick thinking by a nearby witness made their job much easier. The witness reported seeing 35-year-old William Robert Stirm jump a fence and get into a car driven by his girlfriend, Sarah C. Johnson. The man later followed the car to an apartment on the 400 block on Hansen. Police were able to catch up with Stirm, who was arrested on a felony escape charge.
