(POCATELLO) – The Pocatello-Chubbuck School District is defending its latest cafeteria policy. A person who asked to remain anonymous told Local News 8 that a student was denied lunch from the district because of a negative balance on their account. Administrators say that while they sympathize with those who might be in need, they had to draw the line at a negative $10 balance for high schoolers. The district is willing to work out payment plans with parents if necessary in order to avoid turning students away at lunchtime.
