Salesman Sentenced on Rape Charge

(IDAHO FALLS) – A door-to-door salesman accused of beating and trying to rape an Idaho Falls woman has been sentenced. 18-year-old Akeem Thomas will spend ten years behind bars, with the possibility of parole after three years. Prosecutors say the Oakland, Calif. native was selling cleaning products in an Idaho Falls neighborhood at the time the alleged assault occurred on June 2. The victim later notified police and Thomas was arrested just one block from the victim’s home.
