(BOISE) – A 7th District Judge has scheduled an execution date for Idaho death-row inmate Paul Ezra Rhoades. Judge Jon Shindurling issued a death warrant for Nov. 18. The ruling comes after Rhoades spent nearly 23 years appealing his death sentence. Rhoades was convicted for murdering three people from eastern Idaho in 1987, after killing three Utah women in the previous two years. Rhoades will be the first person executed in the state since 1994, and the only person to be involuntarily executed in the past fifty years.
