Romanian National Sentenced to Wire Fraud

(BOISE) – A Romanian man accused of wire fraud in Idaho and several other states has been sentenced to more than three years in federal prison. 34-year0old Andrei Mirel must pay nearly $209,000 in restitution to 71 victims, three of which came from Idaho. Prosecutors say Mirel would pretend to sell low-priced cars on the Internet, pocket the money, and leave his customers without a new vehicle. Mirel pleaded guilty to the charges.
