49ers (11-3) cruise past Steelers (10-4), 20-3
Published at(SAN FRANCISCO) — The San Francisco 49ers (11-3) made it look easy, even with two blackouts on Monday night.
They beat an injured Ben Roethlisberger and his Steelers (10-4) 20-3 in a game that was delayed twice due to power outages.
San Francisco’s defense shut down the Pittsburgh offense all night and still have not allowed a rushing touchdown all season.
“It was a big game, two 10 win teams.” said 49ers quarterback Alex Smith. “It was a game about respect. Our defense played great tonight and we came out on top.”
With the win, the men from Candlestick Park still hold on to the NFC’s No. 2 playoff seed and a first-round bye.
