NBA? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1325074503097National Basketball Association(PHILADELPHIA) — Philadelphia 76ers guard Lou Williams made the best of a potentially dangerous situation.

Williams told the Philadelphia Daily News that while he was stopped in his car on Christmas Eve, a man carrying a gun approached him in an attempt to rob the NBA star.

The gunman quickly recognized Williams from the 76ers and for his charitable work around the community and as a result, Williams was able to talk him down. The story doesn’t end there though, as Williams proceeded to treat the man to McDonalds.

“There’s crime everywhere,” Williams told the Daily News. “I was debating whether to pull off to help the guy. The gun was already out. He did all the talking, and we came up with a solution before I could really say much. I treated him to McDonald’s.

The 25-year old Williams is in his sixth season with the 76ers. Two days after the foiled robbery, Williams scored 25 points in the team’s season opener.
