(KABUL, Afghanistan) –- A would be suicide attacker tried to enter a branch of Kabul Bank in eastern Khost province Wednesday before being spotted by an Afghan police guard and shot dead before the terrorist could set off his explosives.
There were two more attackers, sources said, but they managed to escape. The search is on for the other two.
Kabul Bank has the contract of paying the salaries of the Afghan National Police and the Afghan National Army.
This is not the first time that a branch of Kabul Bank was targeted. Last year a branch in Jalalabad was attacked by a suicide attacker who killed more than 40 people.
