John Barrasso, R-Wyo., is still touting the much debated Keystone Pipeline.  A vote on the proposal to extend payroll tax cuts for another two months is set to take place Saturday morning, and will also include Keystone — an inclusion President Obama has said he would reject.

After a 90 minute meeting Friday evening, many Senate Democrats admitted that there are parts of the proposal that they don’t like. While they did get the payroll tax cut extension and the unemployment benefits extension — they had to make major concessions on the inclusion of the Keystone XL oil pipeline provision and the fact that the bill does not have any tax increase on millionaires.

Now, Sen. Barasso informs Americans of all the benefits of pushing Keystone XL through.

“It will create as many as 20,000 construction jobs and 100,000 indirect jobs and it will strengthen our nation’s energy security,” Sen. Barasso says.

“Keystone would allow us to transport 700,000 barrels of oil a day from our northern neighbor Canada to refineries in the United States.  Having a steady source of energy from our friend and ally would make us less dependent on energy from the volatile Middle East — and that is good for America,” he adds.

Claiming that President Obama may have inherited a bad economy, but has only made it worse since taking office, Barrasso says in the Republican address that Keystone is a “real solution” the president should “embrace” to create more jobs.

“We need more from the White House than threats to veto a bill that would create 20,000 jobs for Americans,” Sen. Barrasso says.
