(LOS ANGELES) — Justin Timberlake is on good terms with his girlfriend’s brother, but you wouldn’t guess that by watching a video posted on TMZ.com. Justin Biel, the younger brother of Jessica Biel, has released a video in which he criticizes Timberlake’s tequila brand, which reportedly employed him until recently.
In the clip, Justin Biel implies Timberlake hasn’t done enough to promote the 901 brand. Biel says, “I’ve been waiting for Justin to do something with this f***ing brand — make a song about it, put it in a g**damn video, hold it up dude, take some pictures, I don’t care — just do something because we’re dying on the motherf***ing vine here.”
Biel then tossed out a few promotional ideas for the brand, like employees beating people with its bottles. He also suggests some slogans, including “901 Tequila…I heard Steve Jobs used to drink it” and “901 Tequila…mixes well with a bump of cocaine.”
A 901 rep tells TMZ, “Justin Biel’s video was intended to be one in a series of videos created by 901 Tequila employees (including the brand owner) as part of a larger viral marketing campaign slated for the end of December. It was released prematurely without our knowledge and prior to the final edit.”
According to TMZ, Biel wrote on his Facebook page that the video was a joke.
TMZ also reports that Biel’s departure from the brand was amicable.
