(WASHINGTON) — Meryl Streep’s legendary career is celebrated in the CBS special The 34th Annual Kennedy Center Honors, airing Tuesday night.
She was recognized at the gala, which was taped earlier this month in Washington, D.C., for her lifetime contribution to American culture through the performing arts. The other recipients were “Sweet Caroline” singer Neil Diamond, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, saxophonist Sonny Rollins and Broadway singer Barbara Cook.
President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama will make appearances in the two-hour special, which begins at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time.
