The injury occurred Monday, in the Lakers’ 114-95 preseason loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Bryant practiced on Tuesday but not Wednesday.

With the Lakers’ first game of the regular season on Sunday, this could potentially be a huge blow for the purple and gold.

“I can’t speak to Sunday,” Lakers coach Mike Brown said. “He may practice (Thursday), he may not. I’ll have a better feel soon.”

The Lakers will already be without center Andrew Bynum.  He is suspended for the first five games of the season because of the hit he applied to then-Dallas Mavericks guard J.J. Barea in last year’s Western Conference semifinals.
