(LOS ANGELES) — The Los Angeles Lakers tried to snatch newly acquired Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul away from the Hornets but NBA commissioner David Stern vetoed the three-team trade that would have landed CP3 in a Lakers uniform.
“We haven’t even played yet, it’s 16 championships,” Lakers center Adrew Bynum said, reacting to the deal. “I don’t think they have one.”
But will L.A. become a Clippers town once the season gets started?
“It’s either a Lakers town or a Dodgers town depending on who you ask,” Lakers guard Derek Fisher said when asked about Paul. “We’ll find out if it becomes Clipper nation.”
Lakers All-Star Kobe Bryant voiced his frustration with the team, saying he didn’t know what direction the team was going in.
