No Walgreens Rx’s for Some Next Year

(POCATELLO) – Those covered by Blue Cross Insurance won’t be able to fill their prescriptions at Walgreens in a few weeks. Walgreens failed to renew its contract with Express Scripts, which means they’ll be losing 88 million prescriptions, or about 10 percent of their prescription business. Local News 8 reports that Walgreens is asking for reimbursement rates that would be 20 percent higher than any other pharmacy. But Walgreens officials say its about Express Scripts cashing in on mail-order services. The changes go into effect Jan. 1.
