Sexual Assault Reports Rise at Military Academies
Published at(WASHINGTON) — A new report finds that reports of sexual assault at military academies shot up in the past year.
The report from the U.S. Department of Defense shows there were 65 cases in the past year, up from 41 in the previous year.
The military is imposing two new policies to help victims, including the ability to request expedited transfer to another unit and the retention of records of sexual assault in military files for up to 50 years.
