(LOS ANGELES) — The trailer for the first Lord of the Rings prequel debuted on the Internet Tuesday night.
The two-and-a-half-minute preview of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey mainly showcases the relationship between Ian McKellen’s Gandalf and Hobbit Bilbo Baggins, played by Martin Freeman. Freeman’s previous credits include The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and the U.K. version of The Office.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey hits theaters next December. Its follow-up, The Hobbit: There and Back Again, opens in late 2013. Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson returns to helm both flicks.
