Titans’ Munchak ‘Flattered’ but Not Interested in Penn State Job

SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1325161639219NFL via Getty Images(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) — As scandal-wracked Penn State University tries to replace former longtime head coach Joe Paterno, the school was hoping they could do so with former lineman and current Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak. But he’s not interested.

“You all know Penn State means a lot to me. I obviously went to school there and I’m real concerned for what they’ve gone through the last couple months. I’m flattered that people think I’d be a great fit for the coach there,” Munchak said on Wednesday.

“They have not contacted me in any way or talked to me about the possibility of working there. I have not reached out to them. I have a job that I enjoy quite a bit.”

Munchak is in his first season as the Titans head coach, and has led them to a 8-7 record so far this season. He played for Paterno at Penn State from 1979-1981.
