(NEW YORK) — The New York Jets may not be in the playoffs this year, but they’re not letting that keep them out of the news. While quarterback Mark Sanchez has been feeling the heat from the fans and media, apparently some of his teammates feel the same way. The New York Daily News had spoken to several prominent Jets players, and while they wouldn’t give their names, they didn’t hold back their feelings on Sanchez.
“We have to bring in another quarterback that will make him work at practice,” said one player. “He’s lazy and content because he knows he’s not going to be benched.”
“How can we when he’s not improving at all?” said one player when asked if Sanchez can lead the team to a Super Bowl. “He thinks he is, but he’s not. He has shown us what he’s capable of.”
“So many games, he looked defeated before he even took the field,” another player told the newspaper.
In his third year as the Jets quarterback, Sanchez threw for 3,474 yards, 26 touchdowns, 18 interceptions, and completed just 56.7% of his passes.
