Bears Fire General Manager Angelo
Published at(CHICAGO) — The Chicago Bears have fired general manager Jerry Angelo, who spent eleven seasons with the organization.
The Bears finished the 2011 season 8-8, but went 1-5 to close out the year after quarterback Jay Cutler and running back Matt Forte went down with season-ending injuries. Wide receiver Sam Hurd was also arrested on federal drug charges.
Chicago announced on the team’s website that Lovie Smith will stay on as head coach.
