According to a statement from the band’s representatives, Iommi, 63, is, “currently working with his doctors to establish the best treatment plan,” and is, “determined to make a full and successful recovery.”

The news apparently isn’t putting a damper on the reunion plans. The current members of Black Sabbath, which include Ozzy, Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward, are still writing and recording their first album together in 33 years, and a fall release date is still the target.  However, the band will move the sessions to the U.K. so they can continue to work with Iommi as he receives treatment.
