Clippers Hold On, Beat Memphis 98-91
Published at(LOS ANGELES) — The Los Angeles Clippers (10-6) found a way to hold off back to back a loss at the Staples Center on Thursday. They beat the Memphis Grizzlies (10-8) 98-91 with help from Blake Griffin.
The Clippers were coming off a loss on Wednesday night to their Staples Center big brothers, the Lakers.
Griffin scored a team high of 20 points and Chris Paul added 18 with seven assists.
Memphis did make a late run but Mo Williams hit a jumper late to give them a 86-80 lead followed by a DeAndre Jordan alley-oop from Paul to make it 89-80.
“That’s how we have to execute down the stretch,” Griffin said. “It’s a good win against a great team. We shouldn’t be down on this win at all. They’re not all going to be pretty.”
The Clippers improved to 9-2 at home.
