Recalling that the producers felt “shock” and “concern” when they learned the news, Markel says, “We got a call from [Moore’s representative] on Tuesday morning and said, ‘There’s been a personal crisis and we need to let you know that.’  And we were clueless.  We had no idea what it entailed.”

Moore had been cast as feminist Gloria Steinem.  She was replaced late last week by Sarah Jessica Parker.

Moore’s rep has said the actress is battling exhaustion, though one of the people heard on the 911 call placed prior to the Ghost star’s hospitalization said Moore had been “smoking something” and was experiencing “convulsions.”  Moore reportedly left the hospital on Thursday.
