Speaking at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, Calif., on Tuesday, Cherry said he won’t even tip off his cast on any plot points from the series finale.

“I’m so not revealing what the end is going to be.  I’ve got it in my head, but it’s very much a surprise and I’m being hyper-protective of it,” he said.

It also seems very unlikely that Desperate Housewives will follow the lead of Sex and the City and make the leap to the big screen.  Cherry all but ruled out the possibility, saying, “After eight years, boy, I’m, I think we’re done.  And I’m happy about it.  That’s not a bad thing.”

The cast of the show also appeared at Tuesday’s panel.  Star Eva Longoria said she recalls how popular the show was when it began in 2004.

She said, “I remember going into the dry cleaning and our faces were on the thing, I went to Ralphs and we were on the shopping bag, and then I was on the street and a flier flew by and it was our face….You couldn’t escape it.”
