Horford’s arm was pulled back by the Pacers’ Roy Hibbert while he was taking a shot during Wednesday night’s loss to Indiana.

Horford, a two-time All-Star, could be out as long as four months, which would push his rehab back deep into the playoffs.

“This was just going to be a time for us to come together,” said head coach Larry Drew, when asked what he told the rest of his players after the news came out.  “Our season is not over, we certainly hope we can get Al back as fast as we can but we still have to step up to the challenge that has been thrown before us.”

Atlanta has made the playoffs four years in a row.

“Guys are going to have to pick up the slack,” said Horford, who will get a second opinion before making a final decision on whether to undergo surgery.  “Obviously I know it’s a void, you count on one of your guys to come in and provide.”
