(NEW YORK) — New York Jets linebacker Bart Scott was slapped with a $10,000 fine by the team Thursday, for flipping his middle finger at a media member in the locker room on Monday.
“We’ll address it,” head coach Rex Ryan said. “That’s not acceptable in dealing with the media.”
The day after the end of a disappointing season for the Jets, players were cleaning out their lockers, and some were refusing to speak with the media. As Scott was leaving the locker room, a photographer tried to snap a picture. Scott apparently wasn’t amused, so he said some choice words and proceeded to flip his middle finger at the photographer.
The NFL has said there will be no further punishment for Scott.
