Kobe’s 40 leads LA Past Utah in OT
Published at(SALT LAKE CITY) — How does back-to-back 40 point nights sound on an injured right wrist? Obviously for Kobe Bryant, pretty good.
The Los Angeles Lakers (8-4) and Kobe Bryant got by the Utah Jazz (6-4) on Wednesday night in overtime, 90-87. For Bryant, this was his second straight night of 40 points or more. Against the Suns on Tuesday night, he shot a season high with 48. Wednesday he cooled off a little, scoring a still-impressive 40.
“It felt good to get a road win here,” Bryant said. “It’s a very tough place to play and it was a huge test for us.”
The big play in the game came with seconds remaining in overtime, when Lakers’ center Andew Bynum tipped in a Bryant missed shot to make it 88-85. Then Bynum blocked Al Jefferson’s shot with 1.9 seconds remaining to seal the victory.
