(LOS ANGELES) — Another CSI star is leaving the CBS drama on Wednesday.
After 11-and-a-half seasons, original cast member Marg Helgenberger, who plays Detective Catherine Willows, will make her final regular appearance on CSI. She says she’s “aware of how special” her run on the show has been, but she jokes, “I won’t miss swabbing somebody’s mouth, that’s for sure.”
In the short term, Helgenberger plans on doing theater work. She also doesn’t rule out an occasional cameo on CSI down the line.
Helgenberger joins a growing list of CSI stars who’ve left the show in the past five years, including William Petersen, Jorja Fox, Gary Dourdan and, more recently, Laurence Fishburne.
Fans of the show can watch her farewell episode at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time.
