(LOS ANGELES) — No Chris Paul, no problem. Los Angeles Clippers guard Chauncey Billups lived up to his nickname once again. “Mr. Big Shot” hit a three with one second left on the clock, securing the Clippers a 91-89 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.
“It was a great play that we drew up,” said Billups. “I was going to throw it to Blake, and I was going to come off a really tight handoff. If I had room to get it, he was going to give it to me. If not, fake it and he’ll make a play. They trailed me and I was able to make a good shot.”
Billups is known around the league as “Mr. Big Shot,” a name he acquired during his days as a Piston, for making so many clutch shots.
Billups and the Clippers will look to keep the momentum alive when the take on the Timberwolves Friday night.
