NFL Divisional Playoff Preview: Saints @ 49ers

Ronald Martinez/Getty Images(SAN FRANCISCO) — The San Francisco 49ers will play host to the New Orleans Saints Saturday afternoon in the NFC Divisional playoffs.
The Saints come into the contest with the NFL’s number-one ranked offense. They will be facing a Niners defense that’s tops in the NFC.
“They big, they’re physical, they’re tough, they don’t miss tackles,” Saints quarterback Drew Brees said of San Francisco’s defense. “If you give them an opportunity to take the ball away, they are going to take the ball away. I mean they are doing everything defensively that you would preach to your guys.”
San Francisco finished the season 13-3, winning the NFC West division crown and earning a first-round bye. They will be making their first appearance in the playoffs since the 2002 season.
New Orleans enters the game winners of nine straight, including last week’s 45-28 wild-card victory over the Detroit Lions. In that game, Brees tossed for 466 yards, becoming the first player in NFL history with back-to-back 400-yard passing games in the playoffs.
Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. Eastern.
