Patriots Clinch #1 Seed in the AFC
Published at(NEW ENGLAND) — The New England Patriots clinched home field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs, when they beat the Buffalo Bills 49-21, on Sunday.
The win marks the second year in a row the Pats enter the playoffs as the top seed.
Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, isn’t too concerned with playoff seeding.
“We’ve seen the No. 6 team win the Super Bowl. We’ve seen (a) first seed team win the Super Bowl,” Belichick said. “What’s more important than where you’re seeded is how you play in the playoffs.”
Belichick has good reason not to get too excited about clinching the number one seed. Last year, New England had the same seed only to be beaten in the second round by the Jets.
