(WACO, Texas) — Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III has decided to declare for this year’s NFL draft, according to ESPN.
RG3 won the Heisman Trophy this season, beating out Alabama running back Trent Richardson, Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck, Wisconsin running back Montee Ball and LSU cornerback Tyrann Mathieu.
“The personnel people I’ve spoken with believe he’s going to be a top-10 pick,” ESPN NFL insider Chris Mortensen said. “However, they always remind you about the process. The process being, you are going to have to go through these evaluations, the workouts. Your game tape is a great resume, but he played in an offense that is going to be different than what he is going to play in the NFL.”
Griffin tossed for 4,293 yards with 37 touchdowns and only six interceptions this season, while leading the Bears to a victory in the Alamo Bowl.
