Her rep has said the 49-year-old actress is seeking treatment for exhaustion due to the, “stresses in her life right now.” But TMZ.com claims that Moore was hospitalized Monday because she inhaled a dangerous amount of a type of nitrous oxide that’s informally known as “whip-it.”

A friend of Moore’s reportedly told paramedics that Moore had an adverse reaction to the inhalant, slipped into semi-consciousness and experienced seizure-like symptoms.

A second source backs the seizure report, telling People magazine the actress, “was having what seemed like seizures,” and “concerned friends called 911.”

TMZ previously reported that Moore is seeking treatment for substance abuse.  It didn’t mention which facility would treat her.

RadarOnline.com also claims Moore is battling substance abuse problems, but the website further reports that she is receiving treatment for an eating disorder, too.  Its source says, “Demi is in getting treated for anorexia, as well as other issues that caused her seizure.”

A People magazine report states that one reason why Moore’s marriage to Ashton Kutcher fell apart in the fall is that he was unhappy with her reported use of prescription drugs.

A source says, “He wanted her to take care of herself and get a hold of things, and she wouldn’t.”

The same report also says Moore’s friends had growing concerns over her health, with one source saying that the actress, “wasn’t sleeping as well, didn’t seem to be eating and looked really gaunt.”
