Rockies Acquire Scutaro From The Red Sox

Robert Rogers/MLB Photos via Getty Images(DENVER) — The Colorado Rockies have acquired infielder Marco Scutaro from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for right-handed pitcher Clayton Mortensen.
The 36-year-old Scutaro batted .299 with seven home runs and 54 RBI’s in 113 games last season. He played mostly shortstop for Boston, but is expected to play second base and bat second for Colorado.
Mortensen is a former first round sandwich pick in 2007 by the St. Louis Cardinals. The 26 year old went 2-4 with a 3.86 ERA in 16 games last season for Colorado.
