(OGDEN, Utah) — One police officer is dead and five other cops remain hospitalized after gunfire erupted Wednesday night in Utah during the service of a search warrant.
According to police, the incident occurred just before 9 p.m. at a home in Ogden. Six officers from the Weber Morgan Narcotics Strike Force were wounded in the shootout, as was the suspect.
All seven victims were transported to nearby hospitals, where one officer — who’s been identified as Agent Jared Francom by Ogden City Police Department — died from his injuries. The other cops are still being treated for serious to critical injuries.
The suspect also remains hospitalized, under guard, with non-life-threatening injuries, police say. The suspect has not been identified.
