(SIERRA BLANCA, Texas) — Snoop Dogg was arrested in Texas over the weekend after a police dog sniffed out marijuana on his tour bus.
Authorities tell TMZ that Snoop’s bus was stopped in Sierra Blanca, the same small town in West Texas where country singer Willie Nelson was caught with weed in 2010. At the time, Snoop spoke out on Willie’s behalf, telling TMZ that cops “better leave Willie the f*** alone.”
Border patrol agents on Snoop’s bus over the weekend say their dog led them to a wastebasket, where they found a prescription bottle with several joints inside. Snoop — who has a prescription for cannabis in California — was taken into custody because Texas has a zero-tolerance policy for weed, regardless of a person’s status elsewhere. Authorities issued Snoop a citation for misdemeanor drug possession and released him. If he’s convicted on the drug charge, he could face up to 180 days in jail.
